Texas Sets Daily Coronavirus Record; Governor Urges Residents To Stay Home

Texas has reported more than 5,000 coronavirus cases today, a record.

Governor Greg Abbott told a local television station that everyone should stay home.

“Because the spread is so rampant right now, there is never a reason for you to have to leave your home unless you do need to go out,” he said. “The safest place for you is at your home.”

The New York Times reports cases and hospitalizations have doubled over the past month.
