It was 60 years ago today (August 28) that the 1963 March for Jobs and Freedom was organized in Washington D.C. Known as the “March on Washington,” the event brought together more than 250,000 people. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his historic “I Have a Dream” speech in front of the Lincoln Memorial, as part of one of the largest rallies for human rights ever staged in the United States.
