Giuliani: 'I'm a legitimate whistleblower'

Rudy Giuliani claimed he was the true whistleblower after having uncovered the alleged corruption perpetrated by the family of former Vice President Joe Biden.

"I actually think they should all congratulate me because if it weren’t for me, nobody would have uncovered and faced massive corruption by the [former] vice president of the United States," Giuliani said Thursday night on Fox News, referencing rumors that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is "unhappy" with him.

"In fact, I’m a legitimate whistleblower," the president's personal attorney continued. "I've uncovered corruption that this Washington swamp has been covering up effectively for years, and his State Department, you know, asked me to do this."

"So Mike, if you're unhappy with me, I'm sorry. But I accomplished my mission," Giuliani quipped to the secretary of state.

Giuliani's comments came as he defended his decision to talk to Ukrainian officials about Biden's alleged corruption. House Democrats have opened an impeachment inquiry into Trump over the situation, alleging that the president used his office to gather dirt on the 2020 Democratic front-runner.

Giuliani and the Trump administration contend that it was Biden who was corrupt and that they are merely attempting to expose his corruption.

The president had called the Ukrainian president and asked him to open an investigation into whether Biden had gotten the top prosecutor of Ukraine fired for investigating his son, Hunter. Democrats claim that Trump had muscled the Ukrainians by threatening to withhold military aid.
