BIGFOOT!
So, my Inaugural thread.
Many of us have heard tales of Ape Men lurking in the wilderness. Sasquatch. Skunk apes. Yetis. Yowies.
There’s a LOT of lore concerning these creatures. They are, without doubt, the best documented animal that does not exist, at least formally. The quintessential example of why cryptozoology is more than a passing fad.
Now, I’m sure everyone of you has access to YouTube, and can find any number of BigFoot videos. So I won’t belabot you with that. Instead, I’m gonna talk to you about something HISTORICALLY interesting.
It’ls a story about a Texas Oil Billionaire, a Hollywood movie star, the Dalai Lama, and little old mountain monastery called Pangboche.
Now, way back in the day, with little Tibetan monastery, Pangboche, had one significant claim to fame: it had the HAND of a YETI. Framed up right in its parlor, for any guest to observe. And it was… a hand, of frightening proportions.
A continent and an ocean away, TOM SLICK JR., his actual real name, oil heir and rich guy with a lot of time on his hands, was interested in cryptozoology in general and yetis in particular. And when it came to his notice that such a thing not only existed but was on DISPLAY, he had to SEE it with his own eyebones.
And there it was.

Now, when he asked to have it, the monks told him that it was not for sale.
And so, he did what EVERY mature millionaire resolves to do: he resolved to steal it.
The mission called for significant cover, and so he enlisted his close personal HOLLYWOOD friend James Stewart to fake scouting a location in this location, as a front for an operation to steal the hand.
And under cover of darkness, while Jimmy Stewart was keeping the locals occuptied, some of the bones from the hand were switched out for orangutan bones. There were IMMEDIATELY shipped to London for analysis.
BUT… they never made it. All these shenanigans, ended up in a postal theft. Those bones are gone, and odds are prior to right now you never heard of Tom Slick Jr.
First post, let’s see how this goes.
